I gave my split database to someone with instructions how to make the
front-end find the back-end. When it came time for them to click on
the Linked Table Manager button on the Database Tools Tab, well lo and
behold, it was dimmed and unable to function. I looked around in
Help, but could not find that solution. Any ideas why?

Are they using full Access, or the Runtime? And did you give them a .mdb or a
.mde frontend?

Sorry for the late response but I've been buried in work.

They are using the full version of Access, and they got the .accdb
front and backend. They did not inadvertenly open the backend first,
because they told me that the opening form was visible, and I have no
forms on the backend.
